Bloomington, IN Engagement Photo Session - Sam & Cam

This session was a little extra special for me because I got to photography my cousin, Samantha, and her fiancé, Camden.

I have known Samantha my whole life and I am so thankful she allowed me to photograph a very special moment for her. Sam & Cam are going to separate universities this fall and she wanted to have this special memory that she could hang up all over her room.

Their session was held in Sam’s upcoming new town of Bloomington, Indiana as we went all around Indiana University’s campus and surrounding areas. There were a few times I am pretty sure they thought I was crazy with some of the prompts I gave them, but they embraced it whole heartedly, mosquito bites and all.

Thank you both for giving me this special opportunity to photograph these memories for you!

Why I absolutely love summer

Summer is my favorite time of year. It's warm out, you can open your windows (especially the car windows), go for walks, hikes, and actually enjoy the sun and air. Honestly just thinking about summer helps warm me when we are in the cold months.

It's time for the lake, the boats, the outdoor atmosphere. I love that I can feel comfortable and feel the heat on my skin. I live for the heat.

The main reason I love summer? Lighting. There is so much time in the day. Obviously, there is the same amount of time in winter, but it feels so much longer. It feels as if the days don't really end.

This really helps when it comes to sessions too. I have so much more time for sessions with the light being out as much as it is. I do have ideal times of the day I like to take photos in, not everyone can do those times or there are different moods for each session.

Summer is where you can also have really fun in your sessions. You can do lake photos, camping, picnic, etc. types of photographs. The possibilities are endless. (See my recent post on summer session ideas to get more).

Ultimately, summer is great. It's my favorite season. Plus, I get to celebrate my birthday during the summer.
