Planning a graduation party - everything you need

Graduation is right around the corner for our seniors (high school and college) and that means lots of graduation parties. I wanted to take a break from tips on your sessions and move to something you can find in your everyday lives. I am here to help you plan a graduation party, whether it is your own or someone else’s.

I have put together a timeline with some tips along the way to help you along the way.

  1. Plan a date
  2. Plan a venue (can you do it out of your home or do you need a bigger space?)
  3. Get some photos done for invites
  4. Invite guests (send out invites)
  5. Plan food
  6. Plan decorations and or games
  7. Put it all together

  • Have a lot of friends graduating at one time and don’t want conflicting party dates? Plan one together!
  • Send out invites at least a month before! Get some cool photos done before so you can add a graduation photo for each person as well.
  • One cool idea is to use is get a slideshow with photos of the graduate growing up. My parents did this for me and I SOBBED. I absolutely loved it because it was special and it felt like a celebration.
  • Have some fun games out like corn hole, ladder ball toss, or even volleyball. This is a great use for a big yard and it helps the flow of people inside.
  • If planning to go to another or a new school, you can decorate in those schools colors or keep it with the colors they just graduated from.
  • To keep it less stressful for you, I always suggest catering. A good go to is BBQ food because it appeals to the most amounts of people.

A timeline for your session [what to expect]

Kaytee Lorentzen Photography offers a variety of sessions to meet your needs. With each session you get many other complimentary items. This list includes two complimentary meetings - a consultation and a viewing party, which I will explain more about in a minute.

The list below is everything you get from a session no matter which one you purchase.

What does it all include?

  • A consultation
  • A session
  • Prepared edited photos and personalized items for your wall art & albums
  • A viewing party
  • Help designing your wall art
  • A review of products before they ever enter your home

Now what is a consultation you may ask? This is where I can come to you and talk about what it is you are wanting from my services. In other words, why did you reach out to me? I offer this complimentary whether you hire me or not. I want to make sure I can deliver on what you want. If I am not a good match for you, I don't want you to spend any money. Period. Why hire someone you won't be happy with?

The viewing party is after I have completed my touch ups and my personal touch to your photographs. This is when I come to you and show you the collection of photos that I have prepared from you session. You can invite ANYONE you plan on buying any photographs (or anyone you want to show off to). I will also show you any wall art collections or albums I have created for you. This is also the step where you will purchase any photos and be able to choose your top 20 favorite photos to add to your personalized app. (See more about that by clicking here).

I want you to get the best experience from Kaytee Lorentzen Photography. To make sure that happens, I will make sure you get the experience you deserve. If you feel like I am not up to your expectations, let me know, and I will do what I can to make it right for you.
